Amsterdam Museum Night [Museumnacht] 2014

Every year, 50 museums in Amsterdam come together for Amsterdam Museum Night [Museumnacht Amsterdam] – a night full of special cultural events.

For one night only, from 19:00 to 02:00, the museums organise a whole range of special events, workshops, tours and performances. You’ll also find a great selection of food and drink to help you keep going through the night.

There’s a big choice for you on Amsterdam Museum Night, you can enjoy a special evening at the Artis Planetarium and Aquarium or discover the Rijksmuseum’s "Smell of the Nightwatch" [Geur van de Nachtwacht], where between 19:30 and 00:30 (every 10 minutes), you can discover the smells from the stories of Rembrandt’s most famous pieces of art, in a special dark room!

Then you can head over to one of the many music performances organised throughout around the city, or have a cocktail or beer while dancing at the Van Gogh museum, after the light show!

Previous years have shown that some museums are way more popular than others, so if you want a chance to visit the Tatoo Museum or the Artis Aquarium, get there early to stand in line. Our tip would be to narrow down your selection of museums, and hit up your favorites first…

The tickets include over 250 activities, some entries or discounts on afterparties, a return visit to the Artis Zoo, as well as free public transport during the Museumnacht event.
